TexaSweet Elects New Officers For 2004-2005 Season

Officers for the new season are Richard Walsh, President; Mike Martin, Vice President; and Verle Cray, Secretary/Treasurer. Other Directors are Greg White, Ted Brasch, Lloyd Miller, Paul Heller, Bob Smith, Tom Aderhold, David Hardison and Fred Karle. TexaSweetýs Board of Directors oversees the budget and promotional activities developed on behalf of the Texas Citrus Industry. Richard Walsh, President of the TexaSweet Board of Directors, said, ýThis is going to be an exciting year for our industry and we look forward to rolling out our product in conjunction with TexaSweetýs campaign. Iým confident that with the help of Lucy Garcia, Executive Director of TexaSweet, and her staff we can reach out to new consumers through avenues that have not yet been explored.ý The TexaSweet Board of Directors consists of a team of growers and shippers who bring years of expertise to the organization. The eleven-member board is made up of equal representation of growers and shippers. Five members are appointed from the shipper organization ý TexaSweet Citrus Inc., and five members are from the grower organization ý Texas Citrus Mutual. The eleventh Independent Grower member is elected by these ten members. TexaSweet Citrus Marketing, inc., chartered in 1962, represents the domestic marketing and promotional interests of growers and shippers of fresh Texas Grapefruit and Oranges. ###
